Configuring Lighthouse

Lighthouse can be customized as required, by the creation of users and user Groups, to enable Smart Management Fabric, for authentication, and to enable network traffic mirroring.

Lighthouse supports the creation of Users and Groups, Smart Management Fabric, Authentication and Script templates. Templates are a centralized way of changing the configuration for enrolled Opengear console server nodes by pushing pre-defined configuration templates to selected nodes.

Smart Management Fabric (SMF) is an advanced feature that uses routing protocols like OSPF (Open Shortest Path First). It is strongly recommended that you ensure whether OSPF is compliant with your enterprise security policy.

The following minimal strategies are recommended to address and mitigate risks:

• Conduct a meticulous examination of networks participating in OSPF advertisement, with a suggestion to implement passive interfaces.

• Execute comprehensive testing and verification to ensure that no routing occurs among networks not involved in SMF.

• Verify the activation of OSPF authentication to augment network security.
