View Active Serial Port Connections

Serial port sessions can be initiated through Lighthouse via pmshell, SSH, the Lighthouse UI, or through nodes.

You can view and manage the active serial port connections:

  • to serial ports across all nodes enrolled on Lighthouse.

  • for all Opengear devices and third-party devices managed through Lighthouse.

Note: To view or manage active serial port connections, you must have the appropriate permissions. If you do not have permissions on the port, the port is considered to have no active sessions. For more information, see port management.

To view all active serial port connections:

  1. In the Menu Pane, select  Ports.
    The PORTS page displays

The Active Sessions column displays a list of user names for any currently active serial connections sorted by the number of active connections.

    Notes: This list displays:
    • a maximum of five user names. Where there are more than five active sessions, "+N" is displayed to indicate the number of active connections that are not displayed.
    • only Lighthouse initiated sessions.
  2. To view more information about an active connection, in the Active Sessions column, click on the list of user names.
The [PORT NAME] SESSION DETAILS dialog displays with details for each of the active connections including, username, duration, and client PID.

Note: You can click the header of each column in the dialog to sort the columns by ascending or descending order.
